the French 75
The cannon shot heard ‘round the bar.
Originally gin, brandy, lemon and grenadine, the French 75 has evolved from a “cannon” (it’s named after WWI French field artillery) to a more elegant cocktail, somewhere between a Tom Collins and a Champagne cocktail.
1.5 oz Rhodium Forager’s Gin
half oz lemon juice
1 tsp simple syrup
Dry Champagne or prosecco
Shake gin, lemon, syrup with ice to mix, strain into champagne glass. Fill with Champagne or prosecco. Garnish with lemon zest.
